ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Monday’s 98.3 TRY social dilemma came from Joanne. This is the way dog owners sometimes act. Here is his email:

Hi Jaime.

I have a dilemma and would love if you could use it. Here is my situation. I am currently looking after my mother’s house. She broke her hip and has been in rehabilitation therapy for about six weeks. Regardless, her trash cans are kept to the side of her house until a short driveway. Now, because she hasn’t come home, there hasn’t been any garbage, so we don’t bring the cans out on the road on garbage day. However, we recently discovered that a neighbor who owned a dog was throwing his dog’s poop in the trash. Apparently his dog is leaving, he picks it up then walks up the aisle and puts the bags in the box. I think this is wrong. Who would use a neighbor’s trash without permission, and yet every time we go there, there is more poo in the trash can. And it stinks. I’m just curious if anyone else has been through this, and whether or not you think I’m overreacting? Some friends say I am, but I don’t think so.

thank you so much

~ Jeanne

Well I think that’s really rude, if not completely wrong. As a dog owner who picked up poop, you don’t put the bag in someone else’s trash. You carry it with you until you are home. It’s just the rule to be a dog parent at least in my mind. I would never do that. I don’t know how I would feel if someone did this to me.

What do you think? Is Joanne overreacting? Let us know on the NEWS10 Facebook page or let Jaime know on the TRY Facebook page.
