Is it okay to try to evade jury duty?

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Today’s 98.3 TRY social dilemma came from Charlene and it’s jury duty. Here is his email:

Hi Jaime. I have a dilemma which personally I don’t think is a big deal, but several friends and family members are giving me a hard time. I was summoned for jury duty, but of course I don’t want to do it and I will do everything I can to get out of it. Whenever I get a call, I usually go in and act very opinionated when they question me, and they immediately release me. I plan to do the same this time. My friends tell me that I should really do my “civic duty” and even my husband says it’s time to deal with it and serve. I do not think so. I don’t want to waste my time with a jury. I know I’m not the only one who’s done this, so I’m looking for “my people”. Thank you very much Jaime

I’m with Charlene’s friends and family on this. I think it’s important to be a juror. I was still upset at the time because they excused me because of my job. But I always wanted to serve.

So what do you think? Is it okay to lie so you don’t serve on a juror or do you think it’s important to serve? Let me know on the TRY the Facebook page
