is it scary or sentimental to keep your child’s milk teeth?

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Today’s 98.3 TRY social dilemma came from Taylor and it’s all about baby teeth. Here is his email.

Hello Jaime. My mom passed away about a year ago, and now my dad is moving into a condo, so I went over to help him clean up. Anyway, I was in my parents’ bedroom and found this cute little box in my mom’s drawer. I opened it and my baby teeth were in!!! I could not believe it. Why would she keep them?!?! And in such a pretty box in his drawer?? Did she take them out and look at them from time to time? I thought it was so disgusting and threw them away immediately. I asked my dad about it and he said it sounded like something my mom would do. I can not believe it. I feel like I don’t really know her. I find that really disgusting. Am I overreacting here? Is it something people do? Help me. Thank you I like. I can’t wait to hear what people think.

~Taylor

It’s kind of interesting. My mom didn’t save my baby teeth but for a while she had a lock of our baby hair…me and my siblings. It’s gone now too. I guess it’s just sentimental and trying to hold on to a bit of their baby. But I don’t have milk teeth either. Maybe I’ve seen too many scary movies, but I don’t like the idea.

What do you think? Was it wrong for Taylor’s mother to keep her baby teeth? Let’s help her and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
