Should a spouse ALWAYS be number one in every situation?

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Today’s 98.3 TRY social dilemma is all about paying attention. Here is Kate’s email:

Hi Jaime. My husband and I have a seasonal camp. We go there almost every weekend. In the morning we sit by the fire and have coffee… we usually chat and spend quality time together. He sometimes gets a phone call from his sister who calls just to chat…this has happened many times. The phone call is never quick…usually between 20 minutes and maybe half an hour. I think my husband should ask if he could call her back in maybe an hour…because we’re having coffee together. But he disagrees. So he carries on a conversation that makes our conversation end. So I’ll look for something else to do. I feel like he’s being very rude and disrespectful to me, and that makes me feel so unimportant! I would like to know if I am wrong about this. Thanks

~Kate

Hmm, I understand how Kate feels. We always want to be number one. But for me, I would be okay with that. This may be the only time he and his sister really talk to each other.

What do you think? Is Kate’s husband being rude to his wife or is it just a phone call? Let me know what you think and let’s help her on the TRY Facebook page.
