ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Today’s 98.3 TRY social dilemma came from Ellen and it’s about a friend who is always late. Here is his email:
Hi Jaime. Here is a dilemma that I hope you will use. I have a friend who always asks me for a ride every time we go out, which I’m more than happy to do, except she’s always late, and in turn makes me late. It is driving me crazy. Well, last week she asked me if I would drive her to our friend’s wedding, and I agreed, but told her that if she wasn’t ready when I picked her up, I would leave without she. Sure enough, I get to her house and when I texted her, she said she would be there, except she wasn’t. After 10 minutes I decided to leave, and she ended up owing Uber to the wedding and missing the whole ceremony. She spent the whole wedding chilling me, and our friends sided with her saying I was wrong to leave her. But was I? It’s not like I didn’t warn her. Also, I gave her 10 more minutes than she deserved. What do you think? I hope your audience can help me. Thanks a lot
Well that’s hard. I understand Ellen’s departure, but I admit that I would have stayed. I probably would have been upset, but I would have felt bad leaving my friend behind. I have a friend who is always late so we always tell her half an hour early that we really have to meet and then she is on time. We also accept that it is one of his things and we accept him for that. So I would have waited.
What do you think? Let’s help Ellen out and let me know about the TRY the Facebook pagee.
