ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Tuesday’s 98.3 TRY social dilemma is very interesting. I can’t wait to hear from you, as did Sandy, who emailed me.
My name is Sandy and I am a longtime fan and mother of two. My kids are basically big, one is 24 and the other 22, but they are still my world. So I’m an exercise enthusiast and train five days a week. I have regained the same height as when I was 30 years old and I am proud of it. The thing is, the other day I was with two other moms at a pool party and I was in a bikini because that’s all I own and it felt like that other moms judged me. One of them even commented on wearing a bikini “at our age”. When I told my husband about it, he told me that they probably felt a little anxious with me and next time I should just wear a blanket or buy a few pieces. But should I change what I’m wearing because they are uncomfortable? Why is this fair? Is it wrong for a woman in her 50s to wear a bikini? Am I overthinking this?
Thank you very much Jaime
Look, I think if Sandy wants to wear a bikini, she should wear a bikini. I would never feel comfortable doing that, but it’s me. Everyone is different and if she feels good then I say go for it.
What do you think? Is there an age limit at which women should stop wearing bikinis and opt for tankinis or one-piece swimsuits? Let us know on the NEWS10 Facebook page or let Jaime know on the TRY Facebook page.
